Raised and educated in Herefordshire I moved to London after university. It was pretty obvious from an early stage of corporate employment that it was absolutely not for me. In my spare time I cobbled together a dreadful brick wall in my garden and planted some tomato plants. I marvelled the new shoots that were growing in the warm sun. Soon after I found myself studying Horticulture and Landscape Construction at Merrist Wood College in Guildford. Wet behind the ears from studying I set about honing my skills as a landscape gardener. Terrified from messing up a garden that a customer had spent good money on, and the awkward scenario that would ensue, I improved very quickly and took an enormous amount of pride in my work. This has not wavered and every day I look back at the work I have carried out with a real sense of satisfaction and achievement. Unlike many landscape companies I only carry out one job at a time, from start to finish. I carry out the work myself and get my hands dirty. The level of finish in the craft itself means everything to me.
