Preferring to stay and work to gain valuable experience, at the same time she undertook her legal studies through part-time attendance at college and evening classes. Firstly, she gained her legal executive qualification and, in 1997, attained solicitor status, with a distinction from the prestigious Guildford College of Law, earning a law society prize for the highest grades on her course that year.
