The village occupies a sunny and elevated position between the south side of the Helford River and the little creek that runs from the sea up to Carne. Wooded footpaths lead from the village down timeless routes where 10 minutes walking will bring you to the water's edge at Carne and then St. Anthony, a further stroll along the creekside lane. It is about 15 to 20 minutes walk down to Helford. From there, the section of the 'South West Coastal Path' along the estuary to the sea should not be missed. Further paths, upriver, including those to Frenchmans Creek are also certainly worth exploring. Tennis courts can be rented at a very reasonable rate at the top of the village and boats of all shapes and sizes are available for hire at St. Anthony and Helford.
