The Hindhead Music Centre, originally known as the Hindhead School of Music, was founded in 1975 by the harpist, Ann Hughes-Chamberlain, whose aim has always been to offer excellence in music tuition to everyone, from complete novices to post-graduates, from toddlers to pensioners, to gifted musicians and to those who just want a rewarding hobby, and to those with learning difficulties, in fact to everyone. No-one has ever been turned away. We cover a wide area, with pupils coming from London, Winchester, Chichester, Midhurst, Guildford, Godalming, Farnham, Petersfield, Haslemere, Isle of Wight and the surrounding towns and villages. The Hindhead Music Centre aims to fulfil the musical potential of each and every pupil, and very often greatly exceeds this. Ann Hughes-Chamberlain's philosophy is that music is a language which can reach every single mortal being and bring unrivalled joy if only they have the opportunity to discover it.
