We offer an outstanding development scheme for children aged 3 years old and upwards, following the Swim England Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) Learn to Swim Framework. This plan teaches the fundamentals of swimming using the most innovative techniques, in a fun and exciting environment. The use of toys and games are a big part of our beginner classes. We aim to create a happy and safe environment concentrating initially on water confidence, and building on the necessary skills to develop stroke technique, through to encouraging stamina and advanced strokes. Swimmers will be continually assessed during their lessons and formal assessments are undertaken every term, with badges awarded for successfully completing all skills required for each award. There is a strict criteria for gaining each of the awards; therefore some children may not achieve awards every term. Group sizes are small (up to 4) so that each child receives the attention they deserve and this enables them to progress at their own pace. Tuition is hands on†with the extra security of having their teacher in the water with them at the early stages of swimming. Lessons take place every week during the state school term times and are 30 minutes in duration. In addition intensive week swimming courses take place during the Easter & Summer holidays.
