I specialise in French and Spanish to English translation and I also have a good working knowledge of Italian and Portuguese. I have lived in France and visited Spain and Italy extensively. I work on a regular basis for agencies based all around the world in addition to the UK, where I live currently. My rates are reasonable (around 0.07 euros per word), slightly more for rush jobs and for very tight deadlines. I meet such tight deadlines and am prepared to work unsociable hours, including weekends, where required. The subjects I cover are wide ranging and include law (both criminal and civil), medical, accountancy, banking, pharmaceutical, general commercial, architecture, construction, the political sciences, history (specifically that relating to the French Resistance Movement and the life of General de Gaulle) and literary. In the mid 1980s, I worked as secretary to the President of the French Overseas Residents Organisation, who was also the President of the Free French Association in the UK. I am a Member of the Institute of Linguists, an Associate Member of the Institute of Translators and Interpreters and I am recognised by the Home Office.
