Fife Group was formed in 1963 to provide grain warehousing storage to the Fife malting industry. The company was initially called the Bulk Grain Storage Company. After a merger with another Scottish grain storage and transport company, the Russell, Kilgour, and Kelly families formed Fife Warehousing Company in 1974. The focus was to provide warehousing services to the local malting and distilling industries by storing large quantities of locally produced cereals. Fife Warehousing Company also offered general warehousing to businesses in central Fife. The nineties saw the decline of the malting industry, Fife Group quickly adapted its business model and moved into the self-storage, removals, and commercial property markets. Current Managing Director John Kilgour joined Fife Group in 1983, working alongside his Father and Uncle, the founders of the business.
