I am an experienced and qualified teacher with over 25 years of guitar teaching and 15 years music classroom teaching experience, who enjoys teaching beginners, through to preparing pupils for exams or college entrance. My musical education - studied piano from the age of 8 and progressed to Junior RSAMD studying piano and violin while still at school -studied Classical Guitar and Composition at Napier University where I gained a Diploma in Music and also received a Licentiate from the London College of Music for Guitar Teaching - studied Guitar and Composition at the RSAMD (now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) where I gained a BA hons and Guitar Teaching Endorsement. In my final year, I was runner up in the Governors' String Recital Prize playing guitar. In composition, 'Childish Games' won the Patron's Fund Prize for Composition, and 'Cold Mountain' for male voice choir won the Bank of Scotland's Tercentenary celebration composition competition.
