Richard started work with BT aged 16. By the age of 24 he was a Development Engineer at BT's research facility in Martlesham, Suffolk. At 28 he was an Executive Engineer developing ISDN2 - still very much in use today. Richard's role was to develop the test methodology to prove that ISDN worked to close technical specifications.. In 1990 he moved to Cable and Wireless where he headed up the Internal Telecoms Development department. His responsibility was to devise standards for the internal data and voice networks. An example of his work was to drive forward the need to use one protocol on the internal network - the Internet Protocol. After several years he moved to a customer facing role - supporting bids to large companies. In 1997 he left Cable and Wireless and moved to Netcom Solutions. The role he had was to project manage and drive forward solutions for large clients such as Electrolux, Whirlpool and Barclays. A major project was to rationalise Whirlpool's computers resources from many disparate sites across Europe down to two. One in Stuttgart, the other in Comerio, Italy. When he left, he joined his brother Samuel in their own company. He now works on deploying solutions to his own customers. This includes IT networks and telephony solutions. He has customers across the South of England and London.
