The driving principles behind the company have been its independence and professionalism in an ever changing and challenging industry. An original member of the Insurance Brokers Registration Council (IBRC), and in 1987 the company was a founder member of the Institute of Insurance Brokers (IIB) with the aim to promote the service standards and the independence of the Insurance Broker. In 2005 the company became authorised and regulated by The Financial Services Authority (FSA) - now Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) - to conduct insurance broking business within the regulatory requirements as documented by the FSA who regulated the general insurance industry with effect from 14th January 2005 until its replacement by the Financial Conduct Authority on 1 April 2013
