Cromlyn House Veterinary Clinic was founded by Chris and Lynn Heffron in 1985. The practice was initially based in one of the old terraced buildings in the Main Street of the pretty Georgian village of Hillsborough in County Down. At this time the practice looked after both small animals and horses. As the practice expanded it became apparent that maintaining a service to both small animal and equine clients was increasingly more difficult so we decided to become an entirely small animal practice and moved out of the centre of the village to make it more convenient for both clients and patients. Cromlyn House is a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) accredited Small Animal Hospital. To attain this status the practice underwent a rigorous examination of our standards and we are proud to be one of only three RCVS Hospitals in Northern Ireland. The hospital is a bright user-friendly building with the most up-to-date equipment and technology for diagnosis and treatment. Our in-house laboratory enables us to analyse blood, urine and cytology samples accurately and quickly, avoiding undue delay and our diagnostic abilities are aided by sophisticated X-ray, ultrasound and endoscopy equipment.
