In 1976 Antony Cookson left school started work as an apprentice electrician, working for MIC Installations on Lenton Boulevard and attending Peoples College on Maid Marion Way to start and complete a 4 year electrical engineering course. After 2 years Antony left MIC Installations and started work with Lumelec, working in Bakers Oven and Pork Farms shops but concentrating mainly on air conditioning installations and maintenance, also servicing air conditioning units in National Westminster Banks. After a further 2 years Antony left Lumelec to work with his father in his building business carrying out numerous electrical rewires on domestic properties and hotels owned & run by his father.
