This is the part of the site where I’m supposed to talk about me! Well, what can I say? I feel genuinely very lucky to have found a career that I love. Chinese medicine is an elegant and sophisticated form of medicine that I feel passionate about. It is greatly rewarding when patients return after a short course of treatment to declare they’ve been able to ditch their painkillers, have had a positive pregnancy result or to have slept through the night for the first time in years. Following my initial acupuncture training, I wrote a research paper, for a master’s degree about the effects of acupuncture in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia. I have a background in dental hygiene and therapy and had come across this awful condition in both the dental and acupuncture settings. It was a valuable insight into the world of research and has taught me how to critically evaluate research papers. As a practitioner, I am kind, efficient and direct. I’m not interested in wasting anyone’s time or money and there’s certainly no hard sell. I’d like to think that I have the sensitivity to gauge my treatment approach to suit the patient.
