She had also been teaching TCM to undergraduates and postgraduates and was a renowned researcher during her time there. 51 articles were published in major national medical journals in China and she was also a co-author of two books which were Holographic Medical Science and Clinical Research and Case Studies for Traditional Chinese Medicine. Three research and development awards were won which included the childbirth pain relief study which she worked in collaboration with Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital. She was appointed associate professor and associate chief doctor in 1995. In 1998, Dr. Xia was invited to work in the UK and has been working in Epsom since then. She has successfully treated over hundreds of patients with various conditions. Dr. Xia also hosted seminars in Middlesex University and is a member of the association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture UK (ATCM).
