Hello, my name is Cath. I have always had a great love of animals and have been able to follow a career in animal health, care and welfare for over 30 years. I started working with dogs and cats for a summer holiday job as a kennel maid at boarding, breeding and show kennels in Surrey. My aim was to follow a career in animal care and welfare. I started as a trainee technician at Liverpool University and after many years of study I gained my qualifications in animal technology and eventually managed a unit at Liverpool University School of Veterinary Science. Part of my work involved working with Vets at the University and Small Animal Hospital and teaching vet students how to handle small animals. I have had experience of working with large and small animals such as cats, dogs, gerbils, hamsters, guinea-pigs, rabbits, chickens, geese, pigs, sheep, goats and ponies to name but a few! I can administer medication so you don't need to worry if you need to leave a poorly or post operative pet. I also have lots of experience with dog whelping, cat kittening and even lambing!
