Started in 1995, Carpetrite Greenock has grown to be a household name in Greenock, Gourock, Port Glasgow and the surrounding areas of Inverclyde. It continues today larger yes; but with the same values, the same customer service and the same value for customers, and all with the same man at its helm. Carpetrite owner John Mulholland has come full circle by moving his business form Greenock’s Lynedoch Street to Greenock’s Dalrymple Street, he started his working life in the very premises he now runs Carpetrite from. Back in 1995 John opened his carpet store in Lynedoch Street, the business grew until in 2005 John built the largest carpet and flooring showroom in Inverclyde with over 6500 square foot of displays and the biggest rug department in Renfrewshire. A further expansion came in august 2008 when John took over the additional space from the back of the showroom to West Blackhall Street, adding another 4000 square feet of display area and allowing customers to visit from both Dalrymple Street and West Blackhall Street. This makes Carpetrite one of the largest single floor retailers in the west of Scotland.
