With Caledonian MacBrayne ferries, MV Bute & MV Argyle, your island experience begins the moment you step on board for this relaxing 35 minute journey across The Clyde to our beautiful island. There is also another smaller ferry at the north end of the island which is literally a 5 minute crossing and is the gateway to the rest of Argyll. On your arrival, there are many boutique style shops, bistros, cafes, bars and restaurants to visit. The island also boasts 3 golf courses, Rothesay Golf Course is the only 18 hole golf course, Kingarth on the south side of the island, is a 9 hole links course and Port Bannatyne is as 12 hole course. All three courses have magnificent scenery/views. There are also horse riding facilities, sailing, kayaking, forest walks, amazing beeches, glorious gardens, fishing, swimming pool, gym, steam room, sauna and cinema to mention just a few pursuits. Historical Rothesay Castle is well worth a visit not to mention the Award winning Mount Stuart House which was nominated for and won The Scottish Wedding Award – Romantic Wedding Venue of the Year 2015.
