In fact there have been Bramwells in optics for well over 250 years since Thomas Bramwell opened up a shop in Alston in Cumbria as a Jeweller, Silversmith, Watchmaker and Optician in the mid 1850s. Descendents carried on in Alston and then moved to Darlington and Durham (where Tim started in 1974). There are still Bramwells Jewellers in Darlington and Durham but for eyecare you need to visit Cheshire!
