Thoughout this period, I have maintained my bikes to a high standard as I am very fastidious about my work. I reguarly cycle around the Trough of Bowland and love the challenge that this area gives me. I can choose a less taxing route or push myself and do several of the big climbs and I have always enjoyed this. I never tire of this beautiful area. Alternitively, if I fancy a much faster pace I can head out over the Fylde. I competed as a Time Trialist for Preston Wheelers CC for several years. In my final season in 2001, I competed in the BBAR which encompassed 25, 50 and 100mile Time Trials and also a 12 hour of which I am particuarly proud. I have completed many Audaxes and more recently, Sportives. At my peak, I trained at over 300 miles a week for many years. I loved my time riding at this level but other commitments forced me to reduce my training. However, cycling is still a huge part of my life and one that I really value. I try to do at least 3 training rides a week plus a longer one if time and the weather permits. I also take part in at least two, 100miles plus Sportives each year, usually le Terrier and the Cheshire Cat and perhaps a couple of Reliability runs too. I am a member of Garstand Cycling Club and I enjoy the club rides on a Saturday from the Royal Oak. I am now helping to organise the PETTS time trial series for the club and I am looking forward to this.
