Blairgowrie Dental Care was formed in 1985 by Jim Estill with one surgery shared between Jim and Alistair Geddes. The practice grew quickly with the addition of a second surgery and then a third surgery to accommodate a young trainee dentist, Stewart McLean in 1991. Back then our patients were mostly residents of Blairgowrie and Rattray but as our reputation grew, we began to welcome more and more patients from the surrounding area. We now have a regular patient base which includes Alyth, Meigle, Newtyle, Bridge of Cally, Kirkmichael, Braemar, Coupar Angus, Murthly, Burrleton, Dunkeld, Stanley, Luncarty, Scone, Perth and Dundee. We also have several patients that, although they do not live in Blairgowrie, work in or around Blairgowrie and find it easier to attend their dental appointments during the working day rather than when they get home. As a result of this, the practice has changed dramatically since 1985 to ensure that we can comfortably accommodate all of our patients. We now have eight modern dental surgeries and a state of the art instrument sterilisation room. Our dental team has also grown; in 1995 Claire Williams joined the practice as did Neil Rutherford in 2007 and they are both now the principal dentists alongside Stewart McLean. In total we have nine dentists, four hygienists, twelve nurses, two instrument processing staff, three reception staff and a practice manager. We strongly believe that a happy working environment and a happy dental team deliver the best care so we regularly arrange team building events which are alwyas great fun -
