The main deterrent to the would-be crimesters would be to see a professionally installed BB Alarms external siren. In most cases this does the trick and they are off to someone else in your street who doesn't have an alarm. Wouldn't you in their shoes? If they should be so stupid as not to notice the siren, on entering your home such a din would ensue (the last thing the felons want is to draw attention to themselves) that they would not spend a couple of hours rummaging, but beat a hasty retreat and put you on their "do not return" list.
