Graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2001 with a B.A. Fashion Design & Business Management. My studies were a great experimentation of various mediums and colour including fabrics and textures. Self taught as an artist and inspired by Scottish landscape and nature which gives themes for work, inspiration also comes from the works of Salvador Dali and Leonardo Da Vinci. Subject matter from my own images and thoughts, I use digital photography to capture anything that inspires me, I can then reflect back on that moment in time, images of paintings arrive at any time day or night. Colour shades are important to me working a full pallet in acrylic or oil bringing out selective details and enhancing areas with contrasting colours. As far back as I can remember I have always drawn, as a child we always holidayed in North Scotland and I frequently visit the Islands and Outer Hebrides, hill walking gives me more insight to that of nature; I enjoy returning to the same places as the seasons change in colour and atmosphere. My passion for the garden has given me a great source of nature from flowers, trees to bonsai, the plants provide natural beauty for my artwork.
