In 2001 a House of Lords committee held an inquiry into the use of complimentary therapies. They classified acupuncture to be one of the five ‘acceptable’, well regulated therapies in the NHS. It has also been stated in the British Medical Journal that Acupuncture has been proven to be effective in treating nausea, back pain, migraines and tooth pain. Acupuncture treats the ‘whole’ person rather than just the symptoms and patients can often find that a number of ailments benefit, not just the main complaint. The holistic approach also means that I will take time to talk and diagnose your condition, which also gives you the opportunity to discuss anything that might be worrying you, whether you think it is related to your condition or not.
