Along with being a mum to two young children my experience in childcare stems from working as a teacher since 2001. I have worked as a drama and music teacher in secondary schools in both Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire and have always enjoyed exploring and inventing ways of teaching children through the Performing Arts. Since having my own children I have discovered an enjoyment in working with younger children and exploring their development and learning through different types of play. I am an ofsted registered childminder (graded Outstanding in September 2013) and am a member of The Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY - previously NCMA). I hold a DBS (CRB) check and have full Public Liability insurance. I hold certificates for completing the Introduction to Childminding Practice course and for ‘Understanding how to set up home-based childcare’ CACHE unit. I have also completed the Early Years Paediatric First Aid training course which is updated every three years.
